Hope URC, Denton have windows which face out onto the main road and decided they provided an opportunity to tell the Lent story in pictures.
This followed on from the success of their Advent story which was intended to be backlit (when the church lights were on) but they found they also worked really well in daylight.
Ruth Wollaston will be leading a short reflective service (on Zoom) on the Anniversary of the start of the lockdown. This will include the minute silence being promoted nationwide by Marie Curie (in a similar way to Remembrance Sunday.) While the meeting will open at 11:30, worship / reflection will start a little later to allow for greetings and everyone to settle, and conclude about 12:05.
Following two successful seasons of prayer last year, we are hosting another four short evening prayer times in the lead up to the next URC Mission Council Meeting – these are weekly commencing on Thursday 18 February – at 8.15pm on
Amongst those participating as our guests are Steve Faber, John Bradbury, Clare Downing, Peter Pay and Adrian Bulley. We would love as many as possible to join us as we focus prayer on various areas of our church life.
